Horizon Elementary School’s annual Wheelin’ – N’ – Walkin’ Challenge

Today students and their families, as well as staff and volunteers, gathered for Horizon Elementary School’s annual Wheelin’ – N’ – Walkin’ Challenge. Everyone walked a course in front of the school and were cheered on by our friends from Jefferson Elementary School in South Orange, Madison High School Special Olympics club and Saint Joseph Regional High School in Montvale. The event was the culmination of the school’s year-long fundraising effort – the school’s annual fund raised a total of more than $52,000! We would like to thank our top fundraisers – the Gittleman Family (over $15,000), the Sagi Family (over $5,000) and the Marcus Family ($5,000) as well as the members of the event committee: Alisa DeAngelo, Jaimie Pasterick, Michelle Roth and Gina Wagner. Special thanks to all Horizon Elementary staff, volunteers, friends and family members for making this walk possible. This year also marked the first walk in which every student at Horizon was sponsored by a volunteer partner! Be sure to check back in to our page for more photos from the event!

Horizon Elementary Pep Rally

Horizon Elementary showed off their school spirit at their Pep Rally this Monday in preparation for their Wheelin’ – N’ – Walkin’ Challenge tomorrow, Friday May 24th. Horizon students invited friends from Saint Catherine of Siena School to come join in on the fun! Each class at Horizon danced around the gymnasium to their own unique class song. In between, staff members and Saint Catherine of Siena students played a series of minute-to-win-it games. A Big thanks goes out to Saint Catherine of Siena students for sharing a high-spirited day with Horizon Elementary!
