Last week, Students from our Horizon Elementary School visited friends at Livingston’s Hillside Elementary for a holiday-themed sing-along. Students from both schools shared instruments as they played sang and danced their way into the holiday spirit. The sing-along is part of the Hillside-Horizon Helping Hands program, which creates opportunities for special needs students to interact with their non-disabled peers.
Cerebral Palsy of North Jersey recently presented Millburn High School senior Erin Wong with the President’s Volunteer Service Award for her outstanding volunteer work at CPNJ and other local organizations. Miss Wong, 17, is from Short Hills and is a senior at Milburn High School. Erin has been volunteering with CPNJ’s group home in Maplewood for adults with developmental disabilities since 2014.
“Erin is an exceptionally committed volunteer who has impacted the lives of all of our Maplewood group home residents,” said Amy Fagan, CPNJ’s Coordinator of Volunteers. “We are fortunate to have her as a volunteer and she is most deserving of this award.”
