Celebrating 60 Years

CELEBRATING 60 YEARS – Program Site #1 –

Horizon School opened in East Orange in 1976 in a former office building that was donated to CPNJ.  Over time, enrollment grew to more than 50 students  and we relocated the school to a more spacious building on Old Road in Livingston in November 2000.  We raised the funds to completely renovate the new building and add an on-site aquatic therapy pool and a 2,500 square-foot accessible play park.  Enrollment grew dramatically and led to the opening of Horizon High School in 2005.  Today, the building boasts one of the premiere sensory integration rooms and one of the only vision therapy rooms in the region as well as a brand new Center for Literacy and Volunteerism and a new health center.  In the fall, the school will unveil their new therapeutic preschool program.
