Cerebral Palsy of North Jersey (CPNJ) is dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities and other special needs by supporting personal growth, independence and participation in the community.
Seton Hall University’s School of Health and Medical Sciences provided a generous grant to allow both Horizon School and Horizon High School to purchase LiteGait training devices. The devices reduce the user’s weight-bearing to allow stude…nts who cannot walk independently to steadily increase the amount of weight they put on their legs. Dylan, who has had only limited success with other gait trainers, has seen a dramatic improvement, going from just a few steps to being able to walk on the treadmill for ten minutes. Thank you to our friends at Seton Hall!
We recently began work on a new community residence in Livingston that will be the agency’s 8th residence for individuals with disabilities. The land was just cleared of trees (CPNJ is paying to plant twice as many trees as were removed) and we will begin construction. We will keep you posted with regular updates on our progress!
