GivingTuesday 2016

gt

This year #GivingTuesday will be celebrated on November 29th and our volunteers are already making plans to support CPNJ on this national day of giving. Livingston HS Key Club, Seton Hall’s Occupational Therapy Association, Morris County School of Technology and Columbia HS are among the groups and individuals planning bake sales and other fundraisers on behalf of CPNJ. The #GivingTuesday movement promotes a shift from consumerism (Black Friday and Cyber Monday) to a celebration of charitable giving.  If you or a group you are affiliated with would like to get involved, contact CPNJ’s Volunteer Coordinator Corry DeMarco at cdemarco@cpnj.org

Volunteers visiting on an exchange program with Golda Och Academy stopped by Horizon School to assist volunteer Melissa Acuna in leading students through a series of mindfulness exercises. The volunteers from Mexico City helped the students to make a mindful jar as a tool to quiet their thoughts and did a gratitude exercise to the sounds of “It’s a Wonderful World.” Gracias a nuestros voluntarios. Les agradecemos su tiempo y amabilidad.
